Central Maldives Maritime Gateway

Malé Port Agency & Vessel Support

Ship agency, crew logistics, spares, stores, medical and vessel support coordinated through the central Maldives gateway.

Malé harbour and commercial port

Island Sailors coordinates vessel calls and maritime logistics in the Malé / Hulhumalé area for commercial ships, yachts, passing vessels and specialist maritime operations.

Why Malé / Hulhumalé Matters

The Malé / Hulhumalé area brings together international air access, commercial maritime activity and shoreside resources used for many Maldives vessel-support requirements. It is a central coordination point when a call needs several services aligned to one schedule.

  • International air access for crew and urgent consignments
  • Local suppliers and commercial maritime activity
  • Hospitals and other shoreside services
  • Air and sea freight connectivity
  • Access to vessel-support contractors

Individual arrangements depend on current provider availability, vessel location and authority requirements; a central gateway does not guarantee a berth, clearance or attendance time.

Ship Agency & Port Formalities

Pre-arrival planning brings the vessel’s schedule, proposed port or anchorage and husbandry requirements into one call plan. Island Sailors coordinates arrival and departure formalities, customs and immigration liaison, and pilotage where applicable with the relevant parties.

Crew Changes & Personnel Movements

For joining or signing-off crew, the central gateway connects airport meet-and-assist, accommodation and local transport with the final vessel transfer. Technician, superintendent and surveyor movements can be planned alongside the call, subject to travel documents, transport schedules and vessel access.

Urgent Marine Spare Parts

Parts arriving by air or sea may be coordinated through the central logistics gateway, from shipment documentation and customs handling to collection and onward vessel delivery. Send the part specification, shipment status and required onboard time before dispatch so the logistics plan can be assessed.

Ship Chandling & Provisions

Local supplier coordination can bring provisions, deck and engine stores, technical consumables and potable water into the vessel’s supply plan. Bonded stores are assessed against applicable customs rules, vessel status, documentation and availability; they are not an automatic entitlement.

Bunkering & Supplies

Fuel and related supplies are coordinated around the requested specification, vessel position and proposed schedule. Availability and delivery arrangements are confirmed for each enquiry rather than assumed from the port call.

OPL & Anchorage Support

Offshore or anchorage delivery and personnel support may be possible for vessels not coming alongside. The proposed operation depends on vessel location, authority approval, weather, sea state and suitable craft availability.

Medical & Emergency Support

Island Sailors coordinates shoreside medical assistance, hospital transfer, medical sign-off and emergency evacuation arrangements with appropriate medical providers and authorities. The movement plan depends on medical advice, the vessel’s position and available transfer options.

Cargo & Freight Support

Vessel spares, air freight and sea freight can be coordinated with cargo handling and local delivery through the central gateway. Documentation, cargo characteristics and the final vessel position determine the handling and onward transport arrangements.

Vessel Types

Support is assessed against the proposed call and vessel-specific requirements, rather than a blanket assumption of access or suitability.

  • Bulk and cargo vessels
  • Research vessels
  • Offshore and support vessels

  • Government and naval vessels where authorized and appropriate
